How does the Shepherd's Gift project work?

The shepherd’s Gift is an initiative of the Theology of the Body Institute.  Donors are able to select a priest, seminarian, deacon or bishop whom they would like to receive Theology of the Body Materials.  Once the donor has sent in the donation, we then contact the “shepherd” and ask that they choose two products from our beginner or advanced product listings.

What products do the shepherds choose from?

Shepherds can choose from a list of 11 different products.  These are books and CDs by the world’s leading commentators on the Theology of the Body, including: Pope John Paul II, Christopher West, Fr. Richard Hogan, and many more.

Can I donate to more than one shepherd?

Yes.  You may donate to as many shepherds as you like.  There is a discount schedule that outlines the cost for donating to multiple shepherds.  This can be found in the “Donate” section of the web site.  For donations to more than 10 shepherds, please call 610-696-7795 ext. 206.

Can I give a donation without naming a specific shepherd(s)?

Yes.  You may elect to have the Theology of the Body Institute choose the shepherd for you.  We have a list of shepherds that have submitted their information to receive the free materials, and we would be glad to match up your donation with a shepherd.

What if the shepherd I chose doesn't want the gift?

If the shepherd you choose does not want the free materials, we will contact you to get the name of another shepherd.  At this point, you can choose another recipient, or we can select one for you.  If you do not wish to choose another recipient, and do not want one chosen for you, we can grant you a full refund.

If I choose to cancel my donation, can I be refunded my money?

If you choose to cancel your donation before we have sent the products to the shepherd, we will refund your donation amount to your credit card.  If the shepherd has already selected his products, and they have already been sent out, we can no longer offer a refund.
